South Sudan’s young population faces unique challenges, including limited access to education, high unemployment, and exposure to conflict. Yet, young people are also powerful agents of change, capable of driving peace, development, and community resilience. The Foundation for Child Education & Development Africa (F-CEDA) recognizes this potential and implements youth development programs designed to equip adolescents and young adults with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to positively impact their communities.
F-CEDA’s youth programs focus on leadership, life skills, vocational training, and civic engagement. By participating in workshops, mentorship, and peer learning activities, young people gain practical tools for decision-making, conflict resolution, and community organizing. Special attention is given to adolescent girls and marginalized youth, ensuring that the benefits of these programs are inclusive and equitable.
One of the program highlights includes youth-led community initiatives where participants identify local challenges—such as school dropouts, health risks, or environmental issues—and develop practical solutions. These initiatives not only foster problem-solving skills but also build confidence and a sense of responsibility among young people.
Additionally, F-CEDA organizes child-friendly spaces, educational clubs, and sports-based programs to nurture creativity, teamwork, and social cohesion. By engaging youth in structured activities, the organization helps them stay productive and contributes to reducing vulnerabilities to negative influences, such as early marriage, substance abuse, or recruitment into armed groups.
Through continuous mentorship and support, F-CEDA empowers young people to become active citizens and ambassadors of peace. The organization believes that investing in youth today ensures a more stable, prosperous, and peaceful South Sudan tomorrow.
Support F-CEDA’s youth programs and help young people become leaders, innovators, and peacebuilders in their communities. Together, we can shape a brighter future for South Sudan’s next generation
