Who We Are ?

Foundation for Child Education & Development Africa (F-CEDA) is a national, Youth-led non-profit, non-governmental organization founded in 2016 with the goal to improve education, protection, health and economic opportunities for especially vulnerable children, adolescent girls, young people and their families in South Sudan through provision of integrated health, education, nutrition, Protection/GBV, Livelihoods and Economic empowerment programs.

To advocate for the fundamental rights of children and young people and improve their access to education, protection and health services and enhance the socio-economic status of their families through provision of integrated youth-led innovative solutions for empowerment, education, health, WASH, and livelihood services.

Education Support & Early Childhood Development & Learning:

At F-CEDA, education

support for the orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) and other disadvantaged children is core to our mission. Our education program is designed to ensure orphans, vulnerable children and those from disadvantaged communities receive appropriate early childhood development and learning to take the first steps in a lifelong learning journey and enhance school readiness and success. We engage and support families, educators, and communities to create and sustain learning opportunities for these vulnerable and disadvantaged children, adolescent girls and young people including:

Accelerated learning opportunities for out of school children.
Provision of basic education, life skills and livelihood training for Adolescents and out of school young people
Educators’ capacity development on educational programs for out of school children and young people

Livelihoods & Economic Development

F-CEDA’s Livelihoods and economic development programs are designed to help individuals create and achieve sound livelihoods and economic future for themselves and their families. Our support focuses on increasing participants’ productivity, employment, and household incomes through farming, cash transfers, skills training, entrepreneurship, and other socio-economic activities. Our cross- cutting capabilities in livelihood and economic strengthening include:

Livelihoods for PLHIV and other marginalized groups

Gender, Equity, Protection & Social Inclusion:

At F-CEDA understand that in South Sudan, children, adolescent girls, young people, especially women are disproportionately affected and are at higher risk of experiencing gender- based violence. Therefore, our gender, equity, protection, and social inclusion programs help, and support individuals and communities to prioritize and address both gender inequality issues and GBV, specifically among children and AGYW with programmatic focus on GBV risk mitigation, response, and prevention.
